Know the Indoor Environmental Quality and have your ventilation system automatically respond to it.

Indoor Environmental Quality which relates to the health and wellbeing of the occupants of a building space. This includes both exposure to pollutants
as well as the thermal comfort of the space.

In Foodservice, we are primarily focused on the kitchen and dining areas of restaurants.

Indoor Environmental Quality Sensors
Thermal Comfort

  • Temperature
  • Relative Humdity

Chemical Exposure

  • VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds)
  • CO2 (Carbon Dioxide)

Particulate Matter

  • PM1
  • PM2.5
  • PM10

Health Impacts of Particulate Matter (PM)

PM10: inhalable particles, with diameters that are 10 generally 10 micrometers and smaller; and

PM2.5: fine inhalable particles, with diameters that are generally 2.5 micrometers and smaller.

How small is 2.5 micrometers? Think about a single hair from your head. The average human hair is about 70 micrometers in diameter – making it 30 times larger than largest fine particle.

Exposure to such particles can affect both your lungs and your heart. Numerous scientific studies have linked particle pollution exposure to a variety of problems, including:

  • premature death in people with heart or lung disease
  • nonfatal heart attacks
  • irregular heartbeat
  • aggravated asthma
  • decreased lung function
  • increased respiratory symptoms, such as irritation of the airways, coughing or difficulty breathing.
